Churchgate to Thane

Four stops: Churchgate, then Dadar, Western line, then Dadar, Central line, then Thane. 8 stations on the Western line, a walk across Dadar, and 11 on the Central line.

1 — Churchgate

Board a Western line train going north. Dadar is 8 stations up the line: slow trains call at every station, and Wikipedia marks Dadar as a fast-train stop. Check the indicator boards before boarding: not every train stops everywhere.

2 — Dadar, off the Western line

Leave the train at Dadar. The Western line's platforms are 1 to 7 and the Central line's 8 to 14; cross by one of the footbridges. The Dadar example shows every platform — this stop opens it.

3 — Dadar, onto the Central line

Board a Central line train towards Thane or Kalyan. Thane is 11 stations on. Wikipedia marks Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund as fast-train stops on the way, and Thane itself. Check the indicator boards before boarding: not every train stops everywhere.

4 — Thane

Journey's end. From here the Trans-Harbour line runs south to Navi Mumbai, and the Central line continues to Kalyan.
